About

Here’s what you can expect.

  • The process begins with a free phone consultation regarding your child’s communication needs, and school information.
  • From this point, a free informal zoom session to ‘eyeball’ your child will be held to determine next steps.
  • Following the review of this information, a plan will be presented specific to you and your child’s specific needs. A financial agreement will be presented as well for your consideration.

My approach requires total involvement.

A distinguishing aspect of AAC on the Lakeshore, PLLC is the total approach to communication competency. Therapy in a vacuum does not lend itself to the outside world! Therefore, the parents, siblings, school team, etc., are an integral part of this work.

I facilitate this process for all involved, using proven strategies to assist what might appear to be a daunting task!

Reaching out to the school system for collaboration creates a “win-win.” We’ve all heard the phrase “It takes a Village,” which is true for working with communication needs. This effort enables children to “say whatever they want to say, wherever they are, whenever they need, and with whoever they may be.” – (Gayle Porter, SLP)

My mission statement emphasizes…

Assisting communicatively challenged people in reaching their full communicative potential, regardless of age, using individualized therapy, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with the entire support team of the communicator.

This statement is the heart of AAC on the Lakeshore – Assisting all Communicators!
